KWV Classic Pinotage Red Wine is rich and flavourful Pinotage shows true varietal characteristics with aromas of red cherries, plums and fruit cake. The sweet and juicy tannins carry hints of chocolate and pomegranate on the palate. Seductively soft and beguiling, it rewards every sip with a long and gentle finish. Perfect for fillet, beef or risotto dishes. Machine/hand picked from Vineyards in the Western Cape. Soil in the Western Cape is ancient weathered soils, of alluvial or volcanic origin. 35 Percent oak matured for 8-10 months. 90 Percent French oak and 10 Percent American oak staves.

This is the southernmost region of the African continent, and has a Mediterranean type climate and diverse soils perfectly suited to quality grape production. KWV was a cooperative until the late 1990s and was highly influential in all aspects of the South African wine industry.
