£2.99
Shepherd Neame Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale is well balanced ale. It is infused with hops and has hints of marmalade, red grapes and pepper amongst the warming malts and mild spices – very aromatic with a fruity finish. A delightful award winning ale with a string of tongue and cheek advertising campaigns. This ale contains: Alc 4.5% volume. Tasting Notes: An infusion of three Kentish hops adorns this beautifully balanced, blood-orange tinted British bitter with an acutely aromatic allure. Hints of marmalade, red grapes and pepper are thrust from a springboard of warm, mellow malts. The floating fruity finish signs off with a smidgen of spice and raspberry. This 4.2% Kentish ale was first brewed in 1990 to commemorate the Battle of Britain which was fought in the skies above Kent 50 years earlier. The beer is named after the legendary Spitfire aeroplane designed by RJ Mitchell. The versatility of the aircraft and the courage of its pilots were essential to victory and were a key symbol of the spirit of that time.
