Sandeman Unfiltered LBV Port 2013 75cl
£15.00
Long associated with quality, tradition and superiority in the wine world, The House of Sandeman was founded in 1790 and was the first to brand its barrels. The name was trademarked in 1877 making it one of the oldest brands in the world.
Sandeman was one of the first luxury brands to advertise. Famous for its Sandeman Don image: the black cloak and sombrero, in 1921, their luminous ad board was put up in Piccadilly Circus and caused somewhat of a stir. Sandeman’s rich history and knowledge passed from generation to generation, enabling the brand to grow from strength to strength and in 1965, they began advertising on TV. Today 18 bottles are sold across the world every single minute!
Founder George Sandeman set up his original wine business with just £300 borrowed from his father. In 2002, The House of Sandeman joined corporate holding Sogrape Vinhos in Portugal and is now represented by seventh generation George Sandeman. The original cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia still exist today where 2000 casks continue to age.
